LA

After a really long flight yesterday I'm in LA! Last night when I got here I was to tired to even reflect on it :) And then this little cutie! How can you say no to that mug? She jumped up in bed this morning and cuddled for a couple of hours. Allergies, schmallergies!! :D

The countdown continues. Today is the last day at the office! It's a little bit sad but also really exciting! Of course they won't survive without fantastic me and beg me to come back, but hey... ;)

Girls

Goodbye lunch with just the girls from work! Laughs and crazy talk! I'll miss them! :)

Home

I have decided to go home this weekend to give my parents a proper good bye, and I'll also get a chance to hang out with these cuties before I go! I'm gonna miss them terribly while I'm gone, but there's always Skype :)

Batman - The Dark Knight Rises

The Plot: Young Master Bruce is a broken Bat since last we saw him, and is wallowing in the fact that the girl died in the last movie. But hey, there's a NEW girl, and up he goes again! :) Well, theres also a new bad guy of course, a really, really bad guy with a terrible voice and accent, with which he tries to drive people mad!!! And of course just killing them.
Will the Big Bad Bat be able to save Gotham yet again? Well, perhaps with a little help from his friends?

I really liked the last Batman movie, and I was worried that a lot of it had to do with Heath Ledger. Well, even if it did I kind of liked this one too, it has the Nolan Borthers-feel to it! I was really worried that Mr Bad Guy Tom Hardys voice would drive me nuts, but I got used to it actually!
Anne Hathaway did a far better job than I expected, and I am so happy (spoiler alert) that Mr Bale got locked up for a while so that Joseph Gordon-Levitt got som more airtime! Man, do we like him, and we are apparently not the only one considering how the movie ends! I also really like Marion Cotillard, but just like our Swedish Noomi Rapace, she really needs to work on her accent.
Other than that, it's a typical Batman movie with the darkness lurking and the black bat fighting it of.
A feeeeeew things I could have done without, but they didn't ruin the movie, so nevermind that!
It's good, go see it! And try to ignore that Tom Hardy lookes like a bloated Hannibal Lecter, he is still a hottie under there, promise!

Days

So now we are down to seven days! Trying to squeeze in as many friends as possible each evening, while working, handing over my job to the girl taking over after me.
I have decided to go home to Vimmerby over the weekend to spend some time with the family, and friends down there. It's hard to prioritise, but mainly, who do I want to see before I go, and who actually want's to spend time with me. I wish I could hang out with everyone before I go, but there's just no time. It's actually only seven days! :)

Swim

When we were younger we always took pride in how early in the year we would jump in the lake, no matter how cold. Usually ended up getting sick, but boy were we cool! :)
It's been a long time since then, but usually I will have gotten wet at least before 1st of July. This year I'm not getting in at all. At least not in Sweden :)

Impatient

12 days and I am soooo impatient. Can I go now? Are we there yet?

Good enough

Well, that whole thing solved itself surprisingly easy! :) Meet my new PC. It falls in the category "good enough", which is fine by me.

Laptop

No, this is not my laptop.
But as it turns out it might as well have been!
Returned my work laptop and dug out my own and started updating it, Windows 7, plugins, yada yada. I thought I bought it maybe.... 3 years ago or something, but once we started updating it we realized that it must be at least 5-6 years ago! What!!? So of course there weren't any plugins and updates available for it!! Especially since it originally supported Windows Vista.
So, today I'm gonna go shopping for a new one. NOT in budget, so we'll see what I find :)

Blowout

I have already looked in to making an appointment for a blowout my first week in LA.
Since they banned it in Sweden I look pretty much like Rapunzel in the morning :)
It's cheaper over there anyways, so I just have to stick it out until I get there!

Insane

A part from a relaxing weekend with friends and family there has been a disturbing interruption that has just about driven me insane!

A week ago:
"Yes, you can have the room in the apt." :)

Friday:
"Loony will be staying in the livingroom."  :O
*waiting, waiting, waiting*
"Ok, you don't have to stay in the livingroom" :)

Saturday:
"Oh, you guys only wan't to pay for one if you are sharing a room? But then we can't afford it!" :/
*waiting, waiting, waiting*
"We'll find other roomates that want to pay full, no worries, and you still have your own room." :D

Back and forth all weekend! Geez!! So supposedly everything is fine now, let's just hope it stays that way. :)

Grandma

I'm spending the weekend where I grew up, Tumbo. My uncle and his family lives here, and my granny! She should have passed years ago, but is a cool old bat, and will probably outlive us all! :)

The Amazing Spiderman (2012)

The Plot: Well hey guys, we know this one. Peter Parker, photo nerd, living with his aunt an uncle gets bitten by a radioactive spider and tadaaaa! Of course someone dies, there is a cute girl and a really mean, mean man who want's to kill most of the world.
No really, that's about it!
The plot is pretty much the same as in the older version, with the exception that Peters dad is involved in the whole radioactive-spider-business before he died, and the meanie is a giant lizard. Yaay? Not so much. Even before the movie i referred to it as a chick flick, and it turned out to be pretty much true.

But there's nothing wrong with the acting! Sally Field!! Oh my god, I love her! Even though this part wasn't exactly extensive it was great to see her on the screen again, but check out Brothers & Sisters (series) if you want more of her. And Martin Sheen! No complaints there!
Really happy to se Rhys Ifans in a, somewhat, normal character. He has done it before, but since he is just so brilliant att playng a dofus we tend to love him more in those parts. And Dennis Leary has come a long way from the fast talking political complainer on MTV. Wish he would do more movies and not just voice overs for Ice Age, and hopefully this part will give him the chance.

So, for the main characters! I'm a bit on the fence about both of them actually. I love Andrew Garfield, and he plays the part well, but still. I don't really buy it. Or maybe I just wish that Peter Parker was less of a nerd to begin with. I would love to se Andrew as a Psycho killer! I think he'd be great at it!
I'm also a big fan of Emma Stone, but same thing there, she is playing a young schoolgirl...
I think that perhaps it's just me getting old! :)

The movie is def worth seeing, but don't expect any surprises.

Boots

In the middle of everything I have fallen inlove!!! With these Boots! From Rag & Bone and they are about 500$. I am of course on a strict no-shopping-diet before I leave, and once I'm there I'll be a very, very poor student, but Dear Santa, if I promise to be really, really good, maybe I could get these in advance...?

3 weeks

Ok, so, three weeks from now I will be standing in the airport waiting to board for LA. CRAZY!!!

And the living arrangements got resolved last night, thank god! I haven't been able to sleep for the past week, going back and forth between different options. But now it's settled! I'll share an apt with 3-4 other girls, but I'll get my own bedroom, and pay a bit more than them. Seriously, I'm way to old to share a bedroom. Especially with a 20-year old! Would drive me nuts! That's how old I am! :) If they knew how old I am they probably wouldn't let me live with them, hahaha!



Weekend

Tomorrow it's back to work, but I have had such a great weekend! Lovely dinner Thursday with my great friends from Jönköping. Going out to one of the Islands with a friends boat of Friday, barbecue, wine and lots of fun! A Saturday just relaxing, hanging out having dinner with friends, and today Sunday! Hanging out with a great friend in the sun all day and then going to the movies seeing Spiderman! Now I'm home curing my cold, getting ready for another week of work.
All and all, fantastic weekend!

Apartment

Getting a place to stay in Fullerton is taking forever. Communication is slow, and suddenly it's less than a month until I go! :) But I'm gonna try to keep my cool. Some students even look for a place once they get there, so, keeping my cool. Not worrying.
Did I at least convince You? :)

Båstad

Since I have never been to Båstad on the official "Tennis-week" I decided it was time to tick that of my list before I move! And it was also the first time I partied in AGES, so it was all and all a good weekend! Wonderful friends, great food, lots of drinks, and just so much fun! I want more!! :)

I'm really gonna miss this crazy bunch! Hopefully they will come visit :)  <3

Explode

I feel like my head is about to explode!
I have got everything in order for my departure, and it looks like the housing arrangements are falling into place as well. And yet I feel totally stressed out!
I think it's because I want to leave. I want to go NOW! I have been waiting for this for almost a year, and now it's just a month to go! So. Very. Excited.

Wedding

This was one of the best weddings I have ever attended! So filled with love, fun and crazy, the way it should be! So happy to have been a part of it and seeing my lovely Angelica get her Viktor. I love them both to death!! :)

Slow down

I have said it before, but doing nothing is highly underrated. Today was spent in a sunbed while rug rats, family and friends were swimming in the pool. A coffee. A bit of sunscreen. Throwing a couple of kids in the pool, while they are laughing at the top of their lungs. This is vacation. :)

Pool

After having to act lifeguard when the little one fell in the pool without his floaties, we are now ready to play in the pool in an orderly fashion :)
He also did my hair by the way!! :)

Relaxing

My hometown Vimmerby might not completely deliver when it comes to great weather, but it certainly does in regards to relaxation. In a Onepiece with a glass of Martini Rose by the pool. What more could a girl want! :)

My parents have learned to socialize like the rest of us :)
