Sherlock Holmes - A game of shadows

The Plot: Once again the very A.D.D. Sherlock Holmes fights crime with his ever so patient Doctor Watson. Or not so patient. But having had his wife thrown off a train into a river by Holmes, he is happy to oblige. Apparently. So they set of to stop the evil Moriarty, who has no better reason for destroying the world than money. Surprise!

Well, as you can see, I found the story a bit thin. As in, a lot of effects all over the place, so much that it's hard to actually see the story somewhere in there! Kudos to Guy Ritche, a couple of times there I got a "Snatch" feeling, but this is Sherlock Holmes, so no. A Sherlock that is a psychic McGyver when it comes to fights, which in the end just gets ridiculous when he apparently meets his match!
As the lovely leading lady from the first movie is (spoiler) killed right at the beginning they threw in another able woman, the Swedish Noomi Rapace! She was awesome in the Swedish trilogy of The girl with the dragon tattoo, and she did fine in this
. I wouldn't say she was great, it just didn't seem like she took to the challange. Besides from working with Robert Downey Junior, of course. :)
Anyways. I said as the movie started that I missed the old Sherlock Holmes. Who solved petty murders with heavy pondering and sitting in his chambers smoking his pipe. World domination was never really on his plate, so I'm not really liking it. The second time either. To much, to fast.
